Metro DC Arnis

This site is dedicated to providing instruction in the Filipino Martial Arts and Self-defense in the Metropolitan DC area. Classes focus on Self-Defense, Kick-Boxing, and drills and techniques used by competitive stick-fighters. Our atmosphere is casual and informal, and we have locations in Bethesda, MD and Chinatown, DC. We do not have contracts, and have a pay by class option for busy professionals. Our goal is to teach you practical and effective street self-defense while improving your physical conditioning and having fun. Arnis is very similar to Eskrima (Escrima), Kali, Balintuac, Pekiti-Tirsia, and many other Filipino Martial Arts. Our school focuses on the style of Modern Arnis taught by the late Grandmaster Remy A. Presas, but also includes techniques from many other styles. For more info, check out our About Arnis section.

We are now accepting payments by credit card over the internet via Google Checkout.
Summer saturday classes tentatively scheduled for June 28th, July 12th, and August 9th. The location will be outdoors in Foggy Bottom at the intersection of 25th and K ST NW, and the time will be 9am - 12pm. The location is three blocks from the Foggy Bottom Metro, and it is a residential area, so parking should not be a problem at 9 in the morning. There's usually a bunch of spots on 26th st between K St and H St (see the map link) as well as a few spots on the street we will be practicing by. Also, many buses, including the Circulator, stop within a block of this location. Plans for this Saturday, the 28th, warmup and Arnis Forms first, then review the new Kombaton material from the camp, review the Pekiti-Tirsia material from the Leo Gaje seminar, and single stick drills and sinewalis. If we have time, we can end with some padded stick sparring for those interested.
